Sketch books for the Co/Mix Shop

May 5, 2011

I have sourced some great hand-made sketch books for the Co/Mix shop.

First is ‘Bookie’ a cow leather sketch book designed by Reanne Gray and made by Urban Africa. The books are filled with 200 pages of beige or ivory color recycled paper and we will be selling them for R220. These are really super books. The paper, which is smooth, is ideal for both pencil and ink. Pete has been using these sketch books for some time and likes them a lot.

Next are newly discovered hand-made books by Nuno, with soft-feeling, hand-made felt and fabric covers. The approx. 100 pages inside are ordinary, white paper and the edges have soft watercolour smudges. They come in A4 and A5 sizes and will sell for between R90 and R150.

Having a unique, hand-made book with a strong cover cannot be beat. They look and feel both stylish and comfortable and last well. We’ll soon be announcing sketching workshops to be run by Ephameron and these sketchbooks, which will be available from the Co/Mix Shop, could be the perfect item to have in hand.
